It’s that time of year, it’s back-to-school! It comes so early for my kids, it just doesn’t seem right that they have to start back when it still feels like summer. However, as much as we all enjoyed the lazy days of summer, I think we’re ready for a more structured schedule. I’ll admit, it’s bittersweet to me. I like having my kids around for the summer, but by the end they have gotten a little restless.
With the arrival of the first day of school comes the obligatory front step photo of my kids before they head off to the bus. They were greeted with sunny skies and I got cheerful (although a bit sleepy) smiles. My mom did this with us when we were kids (yes, even high school) as I’m sure it’s the same with many families, this is always the tradition. I’m so glad my kids still willingly participate in the back to school photos.
